Mint nails are so fresh for Spring & Summer!
Sometimes it's hard to find that right shade of mint, but I think i've found it. Jaded by Revlon is perfect! Retails for around 4.99 so it's definitely affordable for those on a budget, I mean $15 nail polishes at MAC?! Get outta here! I'll get my money's worth & buy 3 for 15!
But money talk aside, I really love this color! I recently got a mint by Forever 21's line Love & Beauty, and ehh... it was alright, but not really that bright mint color I was looking for... The color reminded me of hospital scrubs!!! Hehe
Okay okay, now on to the nails!!
Alright, so lets get started!
First off you want to start with a good base coat, as I prefer to begin with every time. I think it just helps to give you a better surface to paint on than a bare nail. Especially since my fake nails just came off, and took some layers of my nail with it!! Grrr!
Apply one coat of a mint nail polish (I used Jaded by Revlon)
Allow to let dry completely and apply another coat to all nails
Allow those nails to dry once again *allowing them to dry for a good amount of time in between assures you will get a thoroughly dry nail when your done, if its wet underneath the last coat it will take forever to dry!! It will end up getting smudged and poof! there went all of your hard work!!*
Apply a third coat to all nails except the ring finger.

Now bring out the best part, the GLITTER!
To get that glammed up look, I used a fine glitter. I have the Martha Stewart 24 pk of glitter ($20-$29 depending where you go) that I actually got on Christmas. I'm into all things gotti & flashy (not as much now) so of course my dad & his wife knew I'd love it, which I did & still do! :D
I love this set of glitter because it's so fine you can use it SOOO many ways!! I've even used it on my eyes! Yes yes, I know I shouldn't but it's so fine, the same size as cosmetic grade glitter! (I don't advise you to use it cosmetically though! Lol Use at your own risk!!)
Next apply a thick coat to the ring finger (I think its best if you work on one hand at a time) and sprinkle the glitter lightly onto your nail. Try not to completely coat the nail with glitter, as it is probably too much, but a good sprinkle should do.
You can use a small brush or a fan brush to brush off all of the excess glitter.
Allow all fingers to dry completely (10 min) and apply a top coat to each.
If you get a glitter that has small fine pieces, use it! I don't advise using big chunky craft glitter since some are painted and the paint runs off when you apply it to nail polish or use a top coat... I've tried!
Be inspired to try this, or any other look using glitter!! It looks gorgeous!!
Here are other color combos you could use!
Hope you enjoyed this look, I looooove it! So simple yet still has a little "bling" to it!
I also did a cool half moon design the other day on my nails (fake nails), but one broke off so I just took them all off and wah-lah, had to take pictures before I threw them away...
[The half moon part goes on the cuticle part, if you didn't know]
[I used Caribbean Coral by Sally Hansen $4.50 & Siren by Revlon $4]
